testimonials
Meet the dedicated farmers and producers who make Yolo Fill Co. possible. Each one is committed to sustainable practices and quality products.
I had stopped eating meat because I lost trust in the meat industry. But owning a quarter of a cow through Yolo Fill Co. changed everything. Knowing exactly how it was raised—and by whom—brought beef back into our freezer, shipped in manageable batches. It feels good to eat meat again, and even better to believe in it.

My farm is too small to compete with the industrial food system. But with Yolo Fill. Co., I can connect with customers who trust me to raise food, letting me sell a better process of raising food without cutting corner and greenwashing the truth to be competitive.

Producer
Saw the olives on our ten trees for the season! Through Yolo Fill Co., we had 10 liters of oil delivered to our home and sold the last few liters through the wholesale market. I’ve never felt more confident about the quality of my olive oil—and my wallet has never been happier!

We can have a Yolo Fill Co. Blog here, but I think we want to focus the farmer stuff on their individual page within the marketplace.

FAQs
Discover our carefully curated selection of farm-fresh products
I own it, how does that work?
Instead of the producer owning the crop or livestock and selling you the finished product, you purchase it for one production cycle. The “Deposit” is you paying to buy the item at the unfinished state (your ¼ of a steer before it is finished or olive trees before the trees are irrigated, weeded and cared for through the year). You then pay the producer to take care of, harvest and process it. At the end of the harvest cycle, you receive your share.
Can I just buy one or two items at a time?
If we truly want to improve the food system, we have to change how customers interact with it. When you only buy finished products, your only choice is whether to buy or not—you have no influence over how that food was grown or raised. By committing up front to the process and to the producer you trust, you help create a real opportunity to raise higher-quality food and support better farming practices. For that reason, Yolo Fill Co. encourages producers to limit “à la carte” sales.
How long can meat be stored frozen?
Yolo Fill Co. keeps your meat frozen at 0°F. From a food safety perspective, it can stay frozen indefinitely at this temperature. Over time, usually after several years, the quality can decline due to freezer burn, but proper packaging greatly reduces this risk. Meat that has been frozen for a couple of years is still great quality – you’ve probably enjoyed it before without even realizing how long it had been frozen!
Can I visit my crops or animals?
That depends on the producer you choose to work with. Yolo Fill Co. encourages this connection and asks producers to post open house days on their producer page. We also recommend reaching out directly – most producers are happy to give tours and love show you the important details that go into raising your food.
Where are my products stored?
Once your crop or animal has been harvested and packaged, Yolo Fill Co. stores it safely in Yolo County, California, until you’re ready to receive it.
Can I invest in acres of crops?
Some of Yolo Fill Co.’s producers offer this option. If you’re interested in buying an acre of citrus, almonds, pistachios, or avocados and sharing in the returns when the harvest is sold to wholesale customers – this could be a great fit for you. We call these “Wholesale Acres.” Look for that label when you search.
